Some aspiring attendees of EDC Las Vegas on layaway plans for the upcoming edition were thrown into a tailspin after they were suddenly refunded over the past day.
The hype surrounding the upcoming edition of EDC Las Vegas was immense from the jump. The massive festival is set to celebrate three decades of bringing dance music to the masses when it returns to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 15-17. All tiers of tickets sold out quickly when they went on sale last summer in the wake of the 2025 edition, but the past day has brought some turbulence for some who were on layaway plans.
Posts on social media have surfaced over the past 24 hours from layaway plan ticketholders claiming that their plans were abruptly canceled and that their accounts were refunded by Front Gate, while also being charged fees associated with canceled or defaulted plans. Based on the stories circulating online, the apparent layaway plan issue seemed to affect only those who had purchased passes for the festival itself, as Camp EDC passes on layaway remained in the system. Shuttle passes were apparently unaffected as well.
Yesterday, aspiring attendees, like @okalyse_xo on TikTok and u/Adventurous-Ad-9205 on Reddit, shared their perspectives, prompting a flood of comments from others who said they were experiencing the same issue. “Anyone else’s layaway ticket plan just randomly gets cancelled for EDC Vegas?” u/Adventurous-Ad-9205 said in their post. “I just got a random email saying my plan was refunded. Insomniac and Front Gate said they’re not sure what happened and can’t help.” Those who called Front Gate, like Reddit user u/Alone_Ice430, were told that only Insomniac could reinstate tickets.
In recent hours, Insomniac has begun responding to comments on various social media channels, including their recent Instagram post about this year’s kineticFIELD design. They’ve asked commenters to send them a DM with the reference numbers for their orders so the passes that were canceled this week can be reinstated. Additionally, they have directed others to the official contact form on their website for further support regarding their ticketing issues.
“I asked the team that handles tickets about the recent cancellations, and they confirmed that every ticket canceled this week either defaulted or had missed payments,” Insomniac’s founder and CEO, Pasquale Rotella, said in an Instagram comment that was shared to his Story moments ago. He continued by stating that he understands many have traveled or faced life situations during “this busy time” and that he has instructed his team to reinstate anyone whose tickets were canceled this week. See his full response below.
All pass types for EDC Las Vegas, including GA, GA+, and VIP, sold out during the presale in May last year, resulting in no general sale for the 2026 edition. A waitlist is available for those who have not yet purchased passes.
EDM Identity has reached out to Insomniac for an official statement on the situation, but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for more information on this developing story.
