AUGG1E Highlights AmeriKrach Hardcore on New Guest Mix

AUGG1E rings in the new year with an adrenaline-injected Paradigm Shift guest mix that highlights his AmeriKrach hardcore style!

When it comes to hard dance, it’s easy to pinpoint the artists who are carrying the sound and style today. What’s truly difficult is finding innovators who are constantly in the lab, grinding to create the perfectly distorted kick drum, and learning how to ascend to the next level in a scene that still feels niche compared to the broader dance music industry.

Every once in a while, though, a standout artist will rise who not only produces at the level of European artists but pushes the limits of distortion even further. This is the case of Bay Area artist AUGG1E.

Originally from Mendocino County, California, AUGG1E was initially exposed to the multitude of videos of people in phat pants doing the Melbourne Shuffle as he grew up on the internet. He had no idea what the music was or what to call it, but he knew he was hooked. During and after the pandemic, AUGG1E dove deeper into dance music, learning the history of subgenres and how to make them. All of these decisions led him to see Lil Texas in August 2023.

That was the first time I saw hardcore performed live. Right then and there, I knew it was what I wanted to make. I was already invested in my local scene, so when I made the shift to hardcore, there were a lot of friends ready to book me for smaller shows.

AUGG1E

Since officially making the switch, AUGG1E has been an active player in the Bay Area hard dance scene, spreading the eerily distorted sounds of Deutscher krach with an American twist. He’s achieved success with shows all over the Bay Area, and he attributes it to the unique culture that the people have cultivated.

“I’ve learned that the Bay still feels very experimental. It’s definitely a residual impact of its involvement in the hippie movement. Even in the ’90s, they had a pretty dedicated happy hardcore scene,” he said. “It’s up to us to make sure the genre keeps growing and has an inviting atmosphere for newcomers, but I don’t think that will be too difficult.”

To protect this unique scene into which he’s been integrated, AUGG1E has called fans to action. He made the case that the political turmoil of today gives participants in dance culture an opportunity to build community.

Keep going to underground shows and support your local orgs and performers. Community is important in an America that’s tearing communities apart. If we can create safe places for groups and people that might not be so safe right now, the hardcore scene and rave scene can become a really beautiful thing and grow more than we could ever imagine.

AUGG1E

With all of the momentum that hard dance has in the Bay Area and beyond, AUGG1E even predicts a future where hardcore reigns supreme in America. “I think US-based festivals are going to start having more dedicated hardcore and uptempo stages here soon — it won’t just be a wasteland,” he told EDM Identity. “American ears are going to be turning to these genres to make up for how repetitive mainstages here are… I know I was definitely ready for something new when I heard my first zaag kick.”

Contributing to the rise of hard dance, the mad scientist himself stopped by to deliver the first episode of Paradigm Shift in 2026! For one hour, AUGG1E delivers a dose of extreme distortion and the hottest IDs in his vault. Listeners will find standout collaborations from the past year with Dev Lesh, MadJohn, and Mr. Hardcore. Further, AUGG1E offers fans a glimpse of what’s to come in 2026 by featuring unreleased collaborations with AbstructA, The Kick Welder, Ssought, Nocturnyx, and a plethora of unreleased solo tracks.

Hard dance has that thump that makes you jump! It’s such a fun genre because the scene feels so welcoming. It sort of feels like it’s on the edge of both underground and popular music, and that makes this community more open to new people and new ideas. Hard dance is exactly what it sounds like: intense music to move your body to.
