The Chainsmokers Take Down Alleged Unauthorized Remix of EsDeeKid’s “4 Raws”

EsDeeKid wrote, “please don’t remix my shit and think it’s cool to post to all DSPs” in regards to The Chainsmokers’ remix of “4 Raws.”

We love a bootleg — but when you’re as big as The Chainsmokers, it’s usually best to go through the proper channels. And UK rapper EsDeeKid has claimed that they didn’t do their due diligence when cutting a remix of his June 2025 hit song “4 Raws.”

On Friday, January 2, the EDM duo made up of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall uploaded their rendition of the adrenaline-soaked anthem to SoundCloud and YouTube. It didn’t remain there long. Later in the day, the remix was absent from digital service providers (DSPs), with only errant clips remaining on social media channels.

“That chainsmokers remix is getting NUKED mate wow,” wrote EsDeeKid on X. “Please don’t remix my shit and think it’s cool to post to all DSPs.”

Taggart and Pall have not publicly addressed the “4 Raws” controversy at the time of writing. A spokesperson on behalf of the duo did not immediately respond to EDM Identity’s request for comment.

EsDeeKid, who spits verses in a thick Scouse accent, came on the UK hip-hop scene in Summer 2024 with singles like “Palaces” and “Bally.” “4 Raws” first appeared on his June 2025 debut studio-length album, Rebel. EsDeeKid is anonymous and performs with a mask, leading fans to suspect that he was Timothée Chalamet. In December, Chalamet featured on a remix of “4 Raws” alongside a music video to more or less prove that he was not the artist behind the EsDeeKid project.

The Chainsmokers broke through more than a decade ago, first achieving viral fame for their tongue-in-cheek 2014 single “#SELFIE,” then for more genuine numbers like “Closer” and “Roses” in 2016. Their most-recent studio-length album was 2023’s Summertime Friends, and they released an EP titled Breathe in October 2025.
