Amid his long-awaited return to trance, Tiësto has delivered a recording of his set at the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt that includes seven unreleased IDs.
Tiësto certainly knows how to drum up anticipation for a new release. The Dutch superstar’s celebrated return to trance has drawn extra attention to his recent DJ sets. And similarly to his Dreamstate SoCal performance, he’s uploaded full audio and video of his December 19 showing at the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, which saw him test out a number of new tracks.
This time, however, the YouTube video’s chapter-linked tracklist does not include the titles of every single new song debuted during the set. The nearly three-hour journey through trance includes four unnamed Tiësto IDs: one with a classic sound fit for a Balearic sunrise, two heartstring-tugging anthems buoyed by female vocals, and a techno-tinged number ideal for peak hours.
Another three IDs aren’t attributed to a specific artist. One is a remix of Duke Dumont‘s “Ocean Drive,” another is an upbeat track with a female vocal, and the last is a high-energy heater with acids and an ominous spoken-word sample. It remains to be seen whether these belong to a Tiësto side project or other artists altogether.
Tiësto (real name Tijs Verwest) also played the four original singles he previously debuted at Dreamstate SoCal during his set at the Great Pyramids. Their titles are “Lost In The Ocean,” “Tears In My Blood,” “Beautiful Places,” and “Bring Me To Life” with FORS.
At the time of writing, Verwest has yet to share a title, release date, or full tracklist for his upcoming album.
