Next year, Apocalypse Zombieland will host a June event after three years of November festivities at the Queen Mary Waterfront in Long Beach, California.
Fans who found their way to the Queen Mary Waterfront in Long Beach, California for Apocalypse Zombieland this past weekend were met with a surprise. Posters put up around the festival footprint indicate that the event brand will host its next edition on June 19-20 for the first time in its now three-year history.
According to the poster, the gathering is billed as Apocalypse Zombieland: Summer of the Living Dead. It still takes place at the Queen Mary Waterfront. Event promoter Insomniac did not immediately respond to an email asking whether the festival is simply moving dates or is expanding to include a second annual event.
No headliners for Apocalypse Zombieland: Summer of the Living Dead have been shared with the public at the time of writing. Ahead of this year’s event, which ran from November 28-29, the full lineup had been announced by July. Fans were treated to performances by the likes of Excision, Illenium, Wooli, Barely Alive, BOU, HOL!, and NGHTMRE.
Apocalypse Zombieland, which sits under Insomniac’s bass music-focused Bassrush event umbrella, first took place in 2023. The festival’s macabre theme is underpinned by an elaborate fictional backstory in which a zombie invasion is curbed by the discovery that bass music stops them in their tracks. The story also includes product placement for BRAINIEZ, a candy brand that officially sponsors the event, and which is said to rewire their brains to induce self-awareness.
Neither Insomniac nor Bassrush have announced official ticket sale dates for Apocalypse Zombieland: Summer of the Living Dead. Sign up for updates via Hive.
