After recommendations from local authorities and the National Weather Service, the campgrounds for Wicked Oaks will not open on Friday due to severe weather in the overnight forecast.

Update – October 26 at 12:15am CT: Due to the inclement weather causing the festival grounds to be unfit to proceed with programming, Wicked Oaks has officially ended its first night. Partial refunds have been announced for attendees. Day 2 programming is anticipated to proceed as planned.

Update – October 25 at 10:30pm CT: Wicked Oaks has suspended festival programming and are directing attendees to shelter at the recommendation of the National Weather Service and local authorities.

Update – October 25 at 1pm CT: Ingress to the campgrounds has begun, but incoming that weather has prevented the festival gates from opening at Wicked Oaks until 5pm CT. A new schedule for Saturday will be released.

Disco Presents looked to shake up spooky season this year with the announcement of a new festival experience, Wicked Oaks. This weekend-long extravaganza married the minds of Freaky Deaky, illfest, and SVDDEN DEATH for a three-stage onslaught of bass, house, and more at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, Texas. While the festival’s dates are slated for October 25-26, camping was intended to open on Friday to welcome attendees with open arms, but due to projected weather conditions, the festival has paused that portion of the experience.

Earlier today, Wicked Oaks posted on social media that forecasted weather conditions would delay the opening of the campgrounds and continue monitoring conditions for a few more hours. The latest update, which arrived at 4pm CT, announced that the campgrounds will remain closed for the entire day at the recommendation of local authorities and the National Weather Service. Potential tornadoes, flooding, hail, and 60+ MPH winds are forecast for the area overnight, which would put on-site attendees at risk.

“We are deeply saddened by this development and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause,” said the Wicked Oaks team in their statement on social media. “The safety and well-being of our attendees remain our highest priority.”

The current plan for Wicked Oaks is to reopen the camping tolls on Saturday, October 25, at 8am, after the severe weather has hopefully passed. Their team also stated that they will continue to monitor the forecast and that an update will be shared at 7am on Saturday regarding the grounds.

Additionally, in an unprecedented move, Wicked Oaks will offer reimbursement to campers affected by this change in plans who book reasonable alternative accommodations. Those who take the festival up on this offer can send their hotel receipt to [email protected] by Friday, October 31, to receive that reimbursement.

Those who were hoping to vibe out to sets tonight during the pre-party in camp should also keep their eyes peeled for updates, as Wicked Oaks shared that they’re working on an alternative venue to keep the show moving forward.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for additional updates from the Wicked Oaks team.
