Six Must-See Artists at Hocus Pocus Who Might Not Be on Your Radar

This year’s edition of Hocus Pocus features some of the finest names in house and techno. Here are six artists you might not be familiar with, but are worth exploring.


Hocus Pocus is nearly upon us. The Halloween festival takes place at Factory Town in Miami from October 31 to November 2. Over 100 artists are slated to perform across the festival’s five stages from 7pm to 7am, providing 36 hours of music—a special treat. Major artists performing include Camelphat, Josh Baker, BLOND:ISH, Disclosure, Interplanetary Criminal, Ruze, and Chaos in the CBD, yet there’s so much more to explore.

Artists taking the stage represent many different styles and genres, from deep and minimal house to techno and UK Garage, and more. There’s going to be lots to see. We’ve compiled a list of artists to check out that you may not be familiar with. Some larger, some smaller, and some locals to Miami itself, but all are worth seeing. Read on below for more; it’s sure to be spooktacular.

Cristi Cons

Cristi Cons, born Cristian-loan Munteanu, is a legend in Romania’s minimal house and techno scene, more commonly described as Rominimal. He’s been a DJ and Producer for nearly 20 years. Known for long, atmospheric sets, tracks by Cons like “You Know” are perfect to give an idea what to expect. Cristi is also one half of the duo, SIT, a collaboration with Vlad Caia. He’s playing at the Cypress End stage on Friday.


Daizy

Daizy, born Dara Del Castillo, is a Miami-based DJ herself. As a Club Space resident, she frequently plays the terrace and has had sets at III Points, Boiler Room Miami, and Movement Detroit. She’s had a few releases under her full name, her minimal house and techno tracks like “Whispers In The Forrest” are full of texture and atmosphere. Daizy plays the Park Stage on Friday where you’re sure to get lost in the groove.


Nikita Green

Nikita Green

Nikita Green is a London-born, Miami-raised DJ and is currently the music manager for the Miami club Beybey. Her groovy sets are a blend of house and ’80s/’90s dance hits to get you moving on the dancefloor. Often, you can catch her at Jolene Soundroom or Club Space’s basement venue, Floyd. She plays Saturday at the Park Stage.


Max Stern

Max Stern

Max Stern is a Chilean-born, Miami-based DJ and Producer, also a Club Space resident. His sets are a blend of ethereal and melancholy sounds, whether that’s house, progressive, or techno. His tracks like “You Know I’m There” and “Come Back” showcase his diverse sound. Set to go B2B at Hocus Pocus with Differ on Saturday in the Infinity Room.


Sinopoli

Sinopoli, born David Sinopoli, is a Miami-based DJ and producer. He is also the co-founder of III Points Festival and is the co-owner of Club Space, helping with operations. He makes all different styles of music from ambient and techno to indie dance and house. Most recently closing Floyd after III points this year. With a very diverse sound and eclectic taste, Sinopoli and Maccabi go back-to-back on Sunday at the Warehouse Stage.


Champion

Champion

While not a small artist by any means, Champion has been in the scene for a long time, close to 20 years. The London-based UKG artist has collaborated with artists like Skrillex, Four Tet, and Becky Hill. With UKG recently getting more popular again in the US, his mix of garage and grime will not be one to miss. Catch him on Sunday at the Warehouse Stage.
