Lost Lands has evacuated the festival grounds after a severe thunderstorm warning was put in place for the region by the National Weather Service.

Update 6:30pm ET: Lost Lands took to social media to announce that the festival gates have officially re-opened and attendees can now proceed back into the venue.

Previously: This weekend has seen thousands of avid headbangers descend upon Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio for the latest edition of Lost Lands. The Excision-led festival has brought forth plenty of jaw-dropping performances over the course of the weekend, including a surprise set from Dillon Francis and more. Yet the final day has brought a surprise of its own, as the festival has been forced to temporarily postpone activity due to a severe weather warning.

“Due to incoming severe weather, we are evacuating the festival venue,” reads the message that was sent out to attendees and displayed on the venue’s stages. “Please walk calmly to the venue exit and follow [the] directions of event staff. If you are in the tunnel or in the Village Marketplace, please proceed to the campgrounds.”

The National Weather Service sent out a severe thunderstorm warning that is in effect until 5:45pm ET. Wind gusts can reach up to 60 MPH during storms of this magnitude. The NWS also reports that rain showers and thunderstorms could occur throughout the rest of the night and into Monday.

No details have been announced by the Lost Lands team regarding modifications to set times due to the current postponement. The anticipated schedule for the festival’s final night includes performances from artists such as Rezz, ALLEYCVT, Ghengar, Nostalgix, Dab The Sky, Justin Hawkes, SOTA, and Liquid Smoak. Excision and Subtronics are slated to close the Prehistoric Stage with a monumental set as well.

Stay tuned for more updates that will arrive from the Lost Lands team via the app and the festival’s official social media channels.
