Tomorrowland Brasil will not move forward with its 2026 event due to a fire destroying its mainstage at the brand’s flagship Belgium event in July.
The fallout from Tomorrowland‘s unprecedented mainstage fire has now spread overseas as the organizers of Tomorrowland Brasil have shared that it will force them to postpone the 2026 edition to 2027.
In conversation with local media outlet Veja, festival director Mario Sérgio Albuquerque clarified that the 2025 edition slated for October 10-12 at Parque Maeda in Ita will still move forward as planned. This is because it will utilize the “LIFE” mainstage that appeared at the 2024 edition of Tomorrowland’s Boom, Belgium flagship event, whereas next year’s edition would have repurposed the destroyed “Orbyz” mainstage.
“In context, the Belgian stage comes to Brazil by boat, so dismantling it, packing it, and shipping it takes a lot of time,” said Albuquerque. “It’s not possible to hold the 2026 edition here with the time we have after the Belgian one.”
Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers nonetheless took an optimistic tone while reflecting on the Brazilian edition’s journey. “When we returned to Brazil in 2023 after a six-year hiatus, we immediately had a festival that sold out within hours. Soon after, we faced difficulties with rain, but I believe we proved in 2024 that Tomorrowland Brasil is a unique venue in South America.”
Vanwelsenaers continued: “The elements we brought — great performances, beautiful scenography, and the drone show — worked. We’re seeing this in the 2025 sales. They’re going very well. We’ll announce soon that Friday and Saturday will be completely sold out.”
The 2027 edition of Tomorrowland Brasil is expected to take place in April or May. In the meantime, Tomorrowland Winter has announced its 2026 return to the French Alps.
