Looking to support local and rising artists? Here are six acts you don’t want to miss at the inaugural edition of Breakaway Philadelphia.
Breakaway is expanding its festival empire with the addition of Breakaway Philadelphia this fall. Invading the Festival Grounds at Subaru Park in Chester, PA, the explosive inaugural event is set to take place September 12-13. After the Philadelphia expansion of Project Glow was quietly canceled in 2022, the City of Brotherly Love will finally have another festival to highlight its thriving dance music scene.
Breakaway is pulling out all the stops for its first year at Subaru Park, bringing top-notch talent to the Northeast. Headliners Zedd, Cloonee, Excision, Of The Trees, and Two Friends will usher in the epic celebration on Main Stage, while LA-based Brownies & Lemonade is hosting a stage takeover on Friday at the Launch Pad. With heavy-hitters including Control Freak, Eptic, Hedex, Rossy, and YDG throwing down sets, the touring festival’s first Philadelphia edition is shaping up to be one of the biggest events of the year.
Along with booking massive touring acts, Breakaway seeks to blend international stars with rising artists and local talent, providing opportunities to DJs of all walks. This year’s Silent Disco lineup includes over 50 hand-picked acts. With so many artists to discover, we’ve rounded up six rising stars to catch.
