Envision Festival issued a statement of accountability ahead of its 2026 relaunch. Many fans feel that it falls short in a variety of ways.
Festival improvement posts are trending in 2025, what with Elements, Project GLOW, and Electric Forest all taking accountability for recent shortcomings on social media. But Uvita, Costa Rica gathering Envision Festival has tried to follow their lead, and it’s safe to say it hasn’t landed well.
“In 2024, we failed you in the most important aspects of this event, health and safety,” Envision’s post begins. “Some of you got sick, some of our team got sick. Parts of the show were awful; parts were magical. For some of you, awful eclipsed magical. We are very sorry.”
Statements like these can be expected to garner some amount of criticism, but Envision Festival’s fell on especially deaf ears. “This message is coming a couple years too late in my opinion,” wrote one fan. “Should have been addressed a long time ago.”
“Literally told yall this when I worked security for you. The sanitation was sub par,” wrote another, referring to the numerous people who fell ill at the 2024 edition of Envision. “When I voiced my concerns I was met with ‘are you a doctor?'”
For others, the organizers’ failure to address the alleged murder of an attendee in 2024 is their worst oversight. According to the family of Nicholas “Panda” Davila, he was kidnapped in the parking lot of the festival and killed three hours away. Spokespeople on behalf of the festival told Costa Rican newspaper La Nación that they would issue a statement on Davila’s passing, but they haven’t followed through to this day.
“Didn’t someone die?” wrote one commenter. “How about holding accountability and being fully transparent about that?”
Another wrote, “Okay but more importantly can we get a statement about the life that was lost??? I love envision but i have a hard time coming back knowing that a blind eye has been showed to the kid who lost his life and his family that had to travel back home alone.”
Envision Festival’s relaunch edition is slated to take place from February 23 – March 2, 2026.
