Deorro was joined by Kaskade, Dillon Francis, BOLO, JSTJR, and more during a five-hour charity livestream that raised over $10,000 for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA).
Although this summer has brought the usual run of festivals and events throughout the US, what’s happening outside of the scene has been anything but normal. Immigration raids have continued to target Latino communities, especially those in Los Angeles, which have led to massive protests and pushback. Artists in the dance music community have spoken out, while others, like prominent Mexican-American DJ and producer Deorro, have taken an even greater stand.
Deorro was one of the first DJs to speak out against the raids that were taking place throughout LA, and has continued to be vocal and support the Latino community in subsequent months. The latest move he’s made to bolster the community came from his recent charity livestream on Twitch, which took place on August 12.
Driven by his desire to use his music and platform to support those affected, Deorro hosted a five-hour stream on the platform that set off with a goal of raising $5,000 for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA). Other artists, including Kaskade, Dillon Francis, JSTJR, BOLO, Close Friends Only, Dirty Audio, Zoofunktion, and Ocho, joined him during the charity livestream, adding to the impact and bringing some comical moments along the way.
Music has always been a way to connect and bring people together, and right now, our communities need that unity more than ever. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who stepped up to join me. Their generosity and passion show that when we come together as a community, we can support those who need it most.

While the goal was set at $5,000, those in the chat had other plans. Donations flooded the stream, generating more than double the initial goal to bring the total to $10,887. As promised, 100% of the proceeds from the event are being donated directly to CHIRLA, which will help aid immigrant communities in need.
The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) is a leading nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to defending immigrant rights and advocating for policies that ensure dignity, justice, and full inclusion for all. This organization offers legal aid to those who are facing displacement, detainment, or family separation as a result of immigration enforcement.
Although the charity stream might have ended, Deorro is still giving fans a way to give back as he dropped a limited-edition t-shirt that will be available for the next 48 hours via his website. Additional donations for CHIRLA are always welcome via the nonprofit’s official website.
