MEDUZA, berlioz, Nightmares on Wax, RJD2, and Exos appear on the Iceland Eclipse “First Contact Participants” lineup.

In one year to the day, people in and around Iceland‘s Snæfellsnes Peninsula will be enshrouded in darkness as next year’s solar eclipse reaches totality. It is thus as fitting a time as any for the organizers of Iceland Eclipse to announce the first batch of headliners for their upcoming celebration.

The festival — which is slated to run from August 12-15, 2026 — has promised more than 3,000 “artists, scientists, musicians, and visionaries.” As far as performers go, some of the bigger names on the “First Contact Participants” lineup are Italian house trio MEDUZA, UK jazz-house artist berlioz, and Mexican composer Eduardo Castillo.

Underground house and techno feature prominently on the Iceland Eclipse lineup. Detroit DJ Ash Lauryn, British artist Nightmares on Wax, German duo Booka Shade, and UK-born, Netherlands-based provocateur Dave Clarke are a handful of the artists catering to dance music’s more refined side.

The organizers of Iceland Eclipse haven’t shied away from putting local acts on equal footing to major headliners. The name Emilíana Torrini occupies significant real estate on the lineup, as does that of the band GusGus. Other Icelandic acts included in the phase one reveal are Exos, Vök, Hólmar, and DJ Margeir.

The Iceland Eclipse lineup also bills a large number of speakers. Visual artists Alex and Allyson Grey, German Astronaut Dr. Amelie Shoenenwald, and oncologists like Dr. Mani Akhtari and Dr. Nandarani Meister add an air of sophistication to what might would otherwise look like a run-of-the-mill festival.

Iceland Eclipse is being organized in part by Fred Ólaffson, who founded the now-defunct Secret Solstice. The new project’s branding appears similar to that of past events like Oregon Eclipse, Patagonia Eclipse, and last year’s Texas Eclipse.

Tickets to Iceland Eclipse have yet to go on sale. In the meantime, find more information on the festival website.
