The Beatport Connect Los Angeles summit will feature speakers including SOFI TUKKER, DJ Minx, Moody Jones, Katie Bain, and more.
While Beatport started as a digital music hub when it launched in 2004, it has transformed itself to become much more than that over the past two decades. The brand has grown to encompass multiple divisions and start new initiatives that have helped shape the future of the dance music scene. One of the most important is the Beatport Connect series, which features conversations about the industry and puts local communities at the forefront.
This year will see Beatport Connect head to Los Angeles on Friday, September 26, at the W Hotel in Hollywood. That day will feature curated programming centered on a variety of discussions, including AI’s involvement in production, how to break through in the Attention Economy, and dealing with burnout.
Speakers at Beatport Connect Los Angeles come from different areas of the dance music scene. The initial list ranges from artists like SOFI TUKKER and DJ Minx to industry professionals like Billboard Dance’s Katie Bain, EMPIRE and Dirtybird’s Moody Jones, and BUDDY’s Claire Wright. Josh Love, who is a partner at Reed Smith LLP, as well as A Club Called Rhonda’s founder Gregory Alexander, are also among the announced speakers.
With Beatport Connect: L.A., we’re not only investing in the future of the scene but also creating space for emerging artists, labels, and professionals to build meaningful connections. Supporting local ecosystems like L.A. is at the heart of our mission to help the global electronic music industry grow in a more inclusive, sustainable, and collaborative way.
