Mysteryland is Taking a Break in 2026

“Because even the greatest journeys need a moment to reset, reflect and evolve,” reads a statement from Mysteryland.

Harlemmermeer, Netherlands EDM festival Mysteryland has shared bittersweet news with less than a month to go before this year’s edition: There will not be a 2026 event.

The roughly 100,000-strong gathering’s organizers — who announced the 2025 lineup in February — revealed their plans to pause in a statement shared on social media. “THE TIME IS NOW. END OF AN ERA,” it begins.

Mysteryland take next year off “because even the greatest journeys need a moment to reset, reflect and evolve,” according to the note. “That’s why this year, we’re going all out. Together. One more time, with everything we’ve got. For another unforgettable edition.”

Touted as the world’s longest-running EDM festival, Mysteryland first took place in 1993 at the Midland Circuit speedway in Lelystad, Netherlands. Over the years, it has touched down in other Dutch cities like Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Utrecht, and Amsterdam, settling into its longtime home at the Floriade garden festival grounds in Harlemmermeer by 2003.

This is not the first time that Mysteryland’s organizers have been forced to skip a year. Financial setbacks caused them to cancel the 1995 edition, and like countless other festivals, its 2020 and 2021 events were called off due to uncertainty stemming from the COVID pandemic.

Artists like Indira Paganotto, FISHER, Miss Monique, Eric Prydz, and Rebekah are billed to perform at the 2025 event, which is slated for August 22-24. The festival’s Resort experience will now be located on the event site itself, with the approximately 1,000 attendees who paid for it being treated to a sandy beach along a lake designated for swimming.

“We’re not saying goodbye. We’re creating the next chapter for our return in 2027,” reads a passage toward the end of Mysteryland’s statement. “As the world’s longest-standing dance festival, we feel a strong responsibility to deliver to our fans: unexpected discoveries across stages and décor, innovative shows and top-tier artists.”
