GRiZ continues to roll out his comeback shows with the announcement of Detroit’s staple event, GRiZMAS.
As GRiZ returns from his two-year hiatus, so does his annual hometown celebration. GRiZMAS is back for another year of spreading holiday cheer in Detroit. A special tenth anniversay edition will take over the historic Masonic Temple for two nights of out-of-this-world performances on December 19-20.
Joining the hometown hero for his highly anticipated return are heavy-hitters Whethan and Austeria, who will grace the stage on December 19. The vibe takes a turn on night two with funky tunes from DJs Vincent Antone and Motifv.
Not only does the popular event unite the GRiZ fandom for one final, curated event each year, but the holiday concert at its core serves as a large-scale charity benefit. Over the last nine years, GRiZMAS has raised over a million dollars for its charity partner, Seven Mile, thanks to the outpouring of love and support from the fanbase. The local nonprofit provides afterschool and summer camp programming for Detroit’s youth, with a focus on music and creative arts.
“I love closing out the year with this tradition of coming home, hanging out with friends, and giving back to the city. It always feels so special,” said GRiZ of the beloved event’s return when he shared the news on X.
While further details have yet to be divulged, previous editions of GRiZMAS have seen jam-packed programming through the 12 Days of GRiZMAS initiative. The 2022 events included a charity dodgeball tournament, community yoga, and a themed roller disco leading up to the two-day run at Masonic Temple. The lauded DJ also operated a GRiZMAS Workshop where fans could purchase exclusive merchandise, along with offering daily workshops.
