Swedish House Mafia will become the first electronic music act to headline Arthur Ashe Stadium when they take over the venue on September 11.
If there’s one city that Swedish House Mafia has truly come to love over the years, it’s New York City. Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello have brought countless experiences to the city, ranging from hosting pop-ups and nightclub events to performing at Madison Square Garden and more. Now, Swedish House Mafia is checking off another box with their latest show announcement in NYC as they enter their 3.0 era.
On September 11, Swedish House Mafia will head to Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens to take the stage for a special, one-night affair. This stadium, which typically hosts tennis events like the US Open, will become the largest they’ve played in New York City, with a capacity of 23,000. Additionally, Swedish House Mafia will be the first electronic artists to headline the renowned venue, marking another milestone for their legacy.
Those who make their way to New York to catch Swedish House Mafia at this show will be treated to a dynamic performance with plenty of energy and a taste of the sounds that will define their new 3.0 era. This reimagined sound was teased earlier this summer when the trio released their latest single, “Wait So Long,” which also served as the first Swedish House Mafia track to land on their newly launched SUPERHUMAN imprint.
Swedish House Mafia has also partnered with PLUS1 to give back with this show. $1 from every ticket will be donated to organizations that serve those who were affected by the events of September 11, 2001. The trio will match the final donation amount of the show.
The artist presale for Swedish House Mafia’s show at Arthur Ashe Stadium kicks off on Wednesday, July 23, at 10am ET. The DEG Promoter, Ticketmaster, and Spotify presales will begin on Thursday, July 24. The general sale will then begin on Friday, July 25, at 10am ET.
