FEMME HOUSE has partnered with Deep Tropics this year to bring two on-site panels on inclusivity and representation to the festival’s Deep Culture Speakeasy.
Dance music has lost the plot. Somewhere along the lines, the (now) hypermasculine scene strayed far away from celebrating all shapes, forms, and flavors of humans, the community-based ethos that rave was built on. But LP Giobbi and HERMIXALOT‘s FEMME HOUSE is here to change that with its mission to create equity for women, gender-expansive people, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ people in the music industry.
This year, FEMME HOUSE is teaming up with music and arts festival Deep Tropics to bring education and visibility straight to the dancefloor—where it should’ve been all along. The project will host two panels at the Nashville-based festival’s Deep Culture Speakeasy, featuring artists such as Aluna, RaeCola, Afrosheen, Madame Gandhi, and more.
At FEMME HOUSE, everything we do is rooted in the power of community. Partnering with Deep Tropics this year is a testament to what’s possible when we unite our voices and visions. Together, we’re not just creating unforgettable experiences, we’re showing how far real change can go when we lift each other up.

The first panel, Building Local Community, will be held on Saturday, August 16, from 2:30 to 3:30pm. Hosted by RaeCola and featuring local Nashville legends Afrosheen, Girl Friday, and Kiana Nadine, the femme and nonbinary panel will discuss how they’re changing the scene by weaponizing their balanced perspectives.
That same afternoon, FEMME HOUSE will host its second panel with NOIR FEVER called Curating the Black Underground from 4:40pm to 5:50pm. The discussion, hosted by the divine Madame Gandhi, is set to feature powerhouse femme artists Aluna, Ash Lauryn, and RaeCola, who will discuss reclaiming Black roots in dance and building safe spaces for these once-forgotten voices.
Female representation doesn’t stop with creatives for FEMME HOUSE either. They’re sticking up for Mother Earth, too.
In partnership with REVERB and Deep Tropics, they will launch a custom reusable water bottle with Nalgene. The bottle is part of Nalgene USA’s RockNRefill program, which helps reduce single-use plastic bottles at the festival. It will also inadvertently help save ravers quite a bit of money (experienced ravers will understand).
Catch FEMME House’s panels at Deep Tropics at Bicentennial Park on August 15-16, grab your passes to the festival via the official website, and follow them on social media to keep up with events in the future.
