Billy McFarland Puts Fyre Festival Brand Up for Auction on eBay

If you wanted to own the brand, trademarks, and social media assets of Fyre Festival, now’s your chance. Bidding is now open on eBay.

It seems like Fyre Festival can’t stay out of the news in 2025. After teasing in 2023 that the failed festival would make a comeback, this year has seen a roller coaster ride of stories surface after passes went on sale. Disputes with the Mexican government led to the festival’s return being placed on an indefinite hiatus. In April, Billy McFarland finally threw in the towel and announced he was selling the brand. Now, after the apparent sale fell through, he’s put Fyre Festival up for auction, and you have the chance to purchase it for yourself by placing a bid on eBay.

Fyre Festival’s brand was listed on eBay for $.01 on July 8. Since then, over 100 bids have been placed, with the latest arriving this morning for $200,500. That’s still far less than the seven figures that Billy McFarland claimed were on the table for the deal that allegedly fell through on July 7.

According to the listing, the top bidder will own Fyre Festival’s brand name, registered trademarks, intellectual property, official social media accounts, marketing assets, web domains, and email and SMS lists. Additionally, it also claims to provide behind-the-scenes content and documentary footage, an option for a Caribbean festival location, an archive of media coverage, and optional access to the “core team.”

Additionally, the listing provides insight into the impressions the Fyre Festival brand has garnered over the past seven years. They claim to have garnered nearly 32 billion impressions during this time, surpassing major festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits. Granted, those impressions aren’t from the brand hosting a successful festival, but rather the general public’s fascination with its initial failure, subsequent documentaries, and failed relaunch.

Notably, while the sale includes full brand rights, there are carve-outs in place for a theater project, the FYRE Music streaming platform, and a free ad-supported and broadcast TV platform, all of which are independent of the brand.

Check out the listing for yourself on eBay and place your bid if you think you can steer this brand in a better direction.
