Holosphere 2.0 – The Documentary opens a window into Eric Prydz’ unprecedented stage show.

When Eric Prydz joined forces with the newly opened Ibiza superclub [UNVRS] for his Holosphere 2.0 stage show, he and his team knew they were onto something special. Now that they’re a few weeks into the residency, they’re gearing up to further publicize the spoils of their efforts in a three-part docuseries.

Holosphere 2.0 – The Documentary tells the story behind the “original, one-of-a-kind production.” Its first installment drops on Wednesday, June 25, with the remaining two to come on as-yet-unspecified dates.

“This show, the technology, and the size of it has never been done before, ever,” says Prydz in a short clip included in a social media montage posted to promote the docuseries. In others, members of his team remark on the impression made by the eight-meter (roughly 26-foot) and eight-ton sphere upon entry to [UNVRS]. One speculates that Holosphere 2.0 will “change the game” in regards to stage shows on the White Isle.

Born and raised outside Stockholm, Eric Prydz initially gained popularity for his 2004 single “Call on Me.” He was briefly a member of the supergroup Swedish House Mafia prior to their breakthrough, but he went on to achieve more than modest fame as a solo artist in the years that followed. His hypnotic and slow-burning style of progressive house and techno can be heard in tracks like “Opus” and “Pjanoo.”

Touted by entrepreneur and The Night League Founder Yann Pissenem as the world’s first “hyperclub,” [UNVRS] opened its doors to the public last month. Photos shared before it officially began operations show a synergy between Art Deco and brutalist architecture along with a massive geodesic dome on the venue’s exterior.

Keep a close eye on Eric Prydz’s social media channels to watch the first episode of Holosphere 2.0 – The Documentary on Wednesday, and look out for future installments in the days to follow.
