The party at Beyond Wonderland Chicago has been put on pause due to inclement weather conditions in the proximity of Northerly Island.

Update: June 8 at 5:30pm CT – The storm has officially passed! Insomniac and Auris Presents announced just moments ago that Beyond Wonderland Chicago will officially reopen its gates for attendees at roughly 5:45pm CT.

Update: June 8 at 5pm CT – According to the latest update from Insomniac and Auris Presents, the wind and lightning in the area are “expected to improve in about one hour,” leading to the reopening of Beyond Wonderland Chicago. The two brands also urged attendees not to return to the venue until an official reopening update.

Previously: Beyond Wonderland Chicago kicked off yesterday, bringing plenty of fantastic sets and surreal production to the Windy City to help everyone find their late-spring, early-summer groove. Attendees made their way to Northerly Island earlier today to keep the party moving and grooving on day two, but unfortunately, some poor weather conditions have forced Insomniac and Auris Presents to evacuate the venue for the time being.

“Due to weather conditions in the proximity of Northerly Island, we are evacuating the venue to ensure the safety of our headliners,” Insomniac and Auris Presents said in a statement posted moments ago to the festival’s social media channels. They’ve directed everyone inside the venue to follow the directions of the staff and proceed to the nearest exit to seek shelter in their vehicle or the North Garage of Soldier Field.

Once it is safe to resume, we will let you know. Our team is working diligently to update you with information as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.

Beyond Wonderland Chicago was only a few hours into the second day when the Thunderstorm Warnings first arrived. According to Accuweather, the chance of these storms in the area continues until 9pm CT tonight.

While today faced a hiccup, yesterday went off without a hitch at Beyond Wonderland Chicago. Attendees were treated to jaw-dropping performances from the likes of James Hype, Audien, Marshmello, SLANDER, Wooli, MK, ARMNHMR, Wilkinson, SIDEPIECE, Odd Mob, and more across the festival’s four stages.

Tonight’s afterparties, which include Meduza at Prysm, Illenium at Radius, Walker & Royce at Spybar, and more, are still slated to take place for those who want to dance deeper into the night.

Stay tuned for additional updates from Beyond Wonderland Chicago by following the official social media channels.
