Chase & Status is set to headline Project 70’s debut with support from Peekaboo, Whethan, Mozey, and CESCO.
For the past several weeks, a hype train has been chugging along for Project 70: Under The Bridge, a pop-up series situated somewhere in Denver beneath the I-70 overpass. The minds behind the new space have now shared the details for its debut, which is slated for October 4 at a specific location that has yet to be disclosed.
Headlining the grand opening are Chase & Status, a UK duo whose long tenure in drum and bass positioned them well for the genre’s post-pandemic stateside resurgence. Heavy bass artist PEEKABOO and rising UK bass star CESCO give more weight to the lineup, with additional billings to be announced in between now and October.
AEG Presents is the main organizer of the event, which differentiates it from the off-the-cuff parties under Denver bridges that have gone viral on TikTok in recent years. The live music conglomerate exerts significant influence on the Colorado market, promoting a number of concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre each year and counting venues like Mission Ballroom and Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre among its assets.
But that hasn’t stopped the team responsible for Project 70 from attempting to paint it in a subversive light. The venue’s Instagram account began posting images of the space in April, capturing the stark concrete jungle that will serve as a playground for ravers. In the past day or so, the photos have come to include spray-painted phrases like “nobody badder than we” and “you ain’t got no backbone,” both references to Chase & Status hits “Baddadan” and “BACKBONE,” respectively.
AEG has not shared any details of its subsequent Project 70: Under The Bridge gatherings at the time of writing.
Tickets to the October 4 debut of Project 70: Under The Bridge go on sale at 10am on June 12. Register to buy tickets and receive additional updates on the pop-up series’ official website.
