Come August 29-31, a brand-new festival is making its debut at Orlando Amphitheater and the adjacent Central Florida Fairgrounds. It goes by the name Metamorphosis Arts and Music Project, and its organizers have just shared a lineup capable of cementing it as a permanent feature of the EDM landscape.
Headlining the three-day gathering are Australia’s Alison Wonderland, Big Gigantic and Gramatik as Big Gramatik, house artists Lane 8 and Duke Dumont, and bass acts Levity and Of The Trees. Also given significant real estate on the lineup graphic are drum and bass superstar Dimension, progressive duo Kasablanca, and genre bender San Holo.
Bass music is a clear-cut focus of the Metamorphosis Arts and Music Project lineup. Billings like Eazybaked, Meduso, Memba, Ravenscoon, and Ternion Sound showing that the organizers know their audience. Slated to play special live sets are Yheti, Flowdan, Manic Focus, lespecial, and Liminoid, adding a layer of spontaneous dimension to a bill that’s already packed to the brim. Also on the lineup are supporting acts like Mlotik, Nobodies King, Spirit Motel, Yokai, Puffin, and Prankstisci.
Metamorphosis is said to be the spiritual successor of Sol Fest, which previously took place in Ponce De Leon, Florida. The gathering’s 2024 edition was overshadowed by a car fire, logistical issues, and aggressive searches by law enforcement officials. Then, in January of this year, organizers announced that Sol Fest would go on an indefinite hiatus.
