Insomniac is bringing Electric Daisy Carnival back to South America next year, with the debut edition of EDC Colombia set to take place in Medellín.
While much of the focus for Insomniac is on the larger-than-life edition of Electric Daisy Carnival that’s set to kick off this week in Las Vegas, that doesn’t mean they haven’t been plotting their expansion efforts. In recent weeks, lineups have surfaced for different events in Thailand and in Arizona and Colorado on US soil. Today, Insomniac announced another treat for anyone eyeing a trip to South America: EDC is officially heading to Colombia.
The debut edition of EDC Colombia is set to take place at Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot in October 2026. Although limited information has surfaced, those planning to attend this festival in Medellín can expect a top-tier lineup, stunning production, large-scale art installations, and more that have become a signature of the Electric Daisy Carnival experience.
Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac, said that choosing a new location for EDC “is never random” and that it comes down to a few key factors. “First, we look for a local partner who shares our values, understands the spirit of EDC, and has the vision and dedication to help bring it to life,” he said. “Páramo Presenta is an incredible team that fits that perfectly. Medellín also offers a venue that can support the scale and creativity EDC is known for, along with the backing we need from the city and local community.”
Most importantly, EDC must have a purpose. It should bring something meaningful to the area and leave a positive impact. EDC is about more than music – it’s about connection, culture, and creating unforgettable experiences that bring people together.

To bring EDC Colombia to life, Insomniac has teamed up with Páramo Presenta, which is part of OCESA, one of the most influential entertainment companies in Latin America and the longtime partner for EDC Mexico. This promoter has brought forth countless live event experiences to Bogotá and Medellín in recent years. This includes shows featuring artists like Bad Bunny and Linkin Park, as well as festivals such as Festival Estéreo Picnic and BAUM Festival.
“We are very proud to bring Colombia such a major brand with so much history, and one that has been fundamental to the growth of electronic dance music worldwide, like EDC,” said Santiago Vélez from Páramo Presenta. “Medellín will become the center of the electronic world in October 2026, and we hope to reveal more details soon about this festival that is returning to South America.”
This isn’t Insomniac’s first foray into Colombia, as its Alice in Wonderland-themed festival Beyond Wonderland touched down in the country for multiple editions in past years.
The dates, ticket information, and lineup for EDC Colombia will be available in the coming months. Until then, head to Hive to sign up for updates, and stay tuned for more details to surface!
