Beloved Japanese artist Rinaly is celebrating the spring months with a mix that’s dripping with emotion and uplifting energy.
Japanese DJ and producer Rinaly has been turning heads in the trance music scene for a decade, and she only continues to grow her faithful following with each passing year. Her stunning soundscapes have graced labels, including Coldharbour Recordings, FSOE, AVA White, and more. She’s also been a force behind the decks, performing at major festivals such as Dreamstate SoCal, Ultra Japan, and editions of Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Japan, Mexico, and China.
Recent years have seen Rinaly dive a bit deeper into her sonic explorations. While soul-stirring, uplifting trance remains her main focus, a harder tech-forward edge has emerged to add some energy—and spice—into the mix. Those aren’t the only realms she’s opened the doors to, either, as she’s recently dabbled in drum and bass after finding a passion for the genre and continuing her artistic evolution.
Rinaly’s recent single on Black Hole Recordings, “Running,” is a perfect example of why so many trance family members have come to love her over the years. Teaming up with vocalist Julie Thompson, the track features lush, atmospheric elements that pair perfectly with the vocals for a euphoric progressive trance ride that is sure to blast you off to the cosmos. She also has an album in the works that’s due out later this year, making this track a taste of what might be in store for that release.
Fresh off the release of “Running” and her recent tour throughout North America, Rinaly swung by to spin a mix for the Spring Sound Waves series. Found inside the 30-minute ride are a flurry of her recent originals and remixes, including “Oh Fragile Girl” with Clara Yates.
“This track tells the story of a girl with a heart too pure for this world—someone who gives endlessly, yet is constantly overlooked and taken for granted,” she said about that tune. “She longs for the strength to stand tall, to demand the respect she deserves, but the weight of her kindness makes it hard to fight back. With soaring melodies and heartfelt emotion, ‘Oh Fragile Girl’ is a tribute to her struggle, her resilience, and the hope that one day, she’ll find the courage to rise.”
Additionally, there’s a dose of drum and bass remix of “Home” with Donna Tella that brings the journey to a close. Originally an uplifting trance tune, it was born from the emotions of finally finding love when everything clicks and you feel like you truly belong. “Home is more than a place; it’s a feeling, a person, a connection that makes the world feel right,” Rinaly shared. “I felt compelled to take the track even further, transforming it into a high-energy Drum & Bass remix. As my passion for this genre grows, so does the intensity of Home, elevating it into something even more powerful. This evolution mirrors my own journey—love, music, and creativity pushing me to new heights.”
