Videos that circulated after elrow Town Madrid appear to show a fan climbing on stage and physically attacking Paul Kalkbrenner.
Paul Kalkbrenner was apparently assaulted by an attendee on stage at elrow Town Madrid yesterday, May 1, according to videos making their rounds at the event.
Footage of the incident from separate angles seems to show a man climbing up onto the DJ table from the crowd. As he hops down behind the DJ decks, Kalkbrenner can be seen shielding himself. The man then appears to violently grab Kalkbrenner and put him in a headlock before two other nearby men pry him away.
A spokesperson on behalf of Paul Kalkbrenner did not immediately respond to EDM Identity’s request for comment. The “No Goodbye” producer, who hails from Berlin, has not publicly addressed the incident.
The elrow event brand as it’s currently known was launched in 2010 as a traveling party concept that would partner with venues across the globe. The first-ever elrow Town Madrid was hosted at IFEMA MADRID in 2022. It has since relocated to Recinto Ferial Torrejón de Ardoz, and the 2025 edition featured headliners like Cloonee, Indira Paganotto, East End Dubs, and Tini Gessler.
In his early days in the mid-’90s, Kalkbrenner DJed at clubs like Walfisch in Berlin, Vereinsheim in Munich, and Praxis in Leipzig. His released his debut recordings in 1999 under the name Paul dB+, and he both starred in and composed the soundtrack for the 2008 film Berlin Calling. This evening, he is slated to perform at Tignes Unlimited Festival, which takes its name from the commune in France where it takes place.
This is a developing story and EDM Identity will update it as more information about the elrow Town Madrid incident is made available to the public.
