Innovative collective B-Side Los Angeles is celebrating a decade in style by teaming up with Same Same But Different for a DJ Battle anniversary event.
Turn back the clock to 2014, and you’ll find Murad Rezian and A Hundred Drums taking their first steps with the B-Side Los Angeles collective to deliver dubstep to the masses and honor sound system culture. Since then, they’ve become one of the most talked about and beloved experiences to attend in Southern California, hosting forward-thinking artists, legendary acts, and more along the way. Now, they’re gearing up for a 10-year anniversary event that will feature a DJ Battle with a twist.
B-Side Los Angeles’ 10-year anniversary is slated to take place at Dragonfly Hollywood on June 20 and will feature some fantastic acts. All:Lo Collective will be hosting a takeover with Thought Process x Parkbreezy and Pheel., while B-Side “day ones” Anabadi and Chemistry MC will also be featured during the night.
That wasn’t all the collective had in store, as they also announced a collaboration with Same Same But Different to breathe new life into the DJ Battle side of the event. Aspiring DJs can submit their best blends in a one-minute-long video, with voting for the top eight taking place between June 3 and June 17. Then, on June 20, the three finalists will battle it out live in front of guest judges at the anniversary event with 15-minute slots each. The grand prize winner will receive an opening slot for B-Side Los Angeles, as well as one for Same Same But Different this year.
