For the first time ever, Wajeed’s Underground Music Academy will have its own showcase at Movement Detroit 2025.
Talk to anyone who routinely attends Movement Detroit and chances are they’re excited for the 2025 edition next month. In case anyone needed an extra jolt, however, organizers have now released stage-specific lineups and showcase details for the gathering slated for May 24-26 at Hart Plaza in Detroit.
As always, the lineup — which was announced and then sorted by day in February — will be split across six stages: the Movement Stage, Stargate Stage, Underground Stage, Pyramid Stage, Detroit Stage, and Waterfront Stage. This year, the lattermost structure has been sponsored by JARS Cannabis.
Movement Detroit always enlists a handful of tastemakers to curate stage takeovers. This year is no different — but only Detroit personalities.
Carl Craig‘s Detroit Love event brand hosts a showcase at the Stargate Stage on Saturday, and then Kevin Saunderson‘s KMS Records takes over the Pyramid Stage on Sunday. The same day, Wajeed‘s Underground Music Academy hosts its very first takeover at the Detroit stage, and then Monday sees DJ Minx‘s House Your Life curate the Pyramid Stage.
First launched as Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000 and having experimented with different branding before landing on its successful current formula under the stewardship of local promoter Paxahau, Movement Detroit has grown into an annual mecca for lovers of techno, house and adjacent styles from across the globe. This year’s edition features such headliners as Jeff Mills, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Ben UFO, Stacey Pullen, Nina Kraviz, and Claude VonStroke.
Movement Detroit tickets are currently in the Wave 2 tier and start at $319 for all three days. Purchase yours and find additional information on the event website.
