Maryland’s Showcation Festival blends summer camp nostalgia with festival theatrics for a unique experience.

With the festival market oversaturated, it’s harder than ever for promoters to set their events apart from the rest of the pack. From similar themes to lineups that lack ingenuity, events blend together and become less distinctive, especially in the fast-paced news cycle. Showcation breaks the mold, though. It’s emerged with a fresh take on music festivals.

Combining the childhood glee of summer camp with well-curated music programming, the Darlington, Maryland-based event is serving up a new approach to the festival experience. A self-proclaimed “summer camp for adults,” the three-day event immerses attendees in their zany adventures at Camp Ramblewood. With a plethora of ways you can tailor your experience to your personal preferences, Showcation is up for the task of giving you a weekend you’ll never forget.

So what exactly makes Showcation stand out in a sea of sameness? Read on for five ways that the reimagined summer camp is redefining festival programming.

Five Reasons Showcation is a One-of-a-Kind Festival

Make New Friends with Camp Teams

Showcation makes it easy to interact with fellow festival attendees by placing everyone into camp teams. Upon arrival at camp, you’ll be sorted into one of four teams: Fluffernutter, Laserface, Snugglebug, or Ramblesquawk.

Over the course of the weekend, your team will compete in a daily camp Olympics for bragging rights and a secret grand prize. By bringing people together in a fun and creative way, Showcation helps facilitate new friendships, making this a perfect festival for outgoing and independent fest-goers.

Add a Dining Plan for the Ultimate Camp Experience

Taking the stress out of meal time, Showcation offers campers the option of purchasing a dining plan. Meal plans come with four or five all-you-can-eat meals, including a taco bar, chicken and waffles, and more.

To make things even sweeter, Showcation has gone the extra length to include options for all dietary needs so every camper feels included. Starting at $99, this gives you the most bang for your buck.

Participate in a Variety of Camp Activities

In the early hours of the day, campers can immerse themselves in classic summer camp favorites. Join a game of kickball or let your creativity flow with arts and crafts. New, adult-tailored offerings like pole dancing and mocktail mixing take this camp experience to the next level.

Enjoy a Curated Music and Comedy Lineup

Showcation has pulled out all the stops to bring in some of the brightest names in music, featuring performances from Feed Me, Justin Martin, Seth David, and more across three nights. Looking for an escape from the booming bass? Head to the barn for a laugh with some of NYC and DC’s finest comics.

Create Unforgettable Memories Through Interactive Group Experiences

Bringing the whole Showcation family together, the interactive experiences welcome large groups of campers for fun-filled activities.

Late night staples Frick Frack Blackjack and Jive Joint provide excitement and laughs. Party animals can live it up at the Floatopia Pool Party or Project X House Party. Lastly, the Beatbox Battle hosted by Honeycomb and HerShe dials up the creative and competitive spirit.

It’s not too late to join in on the adventure of a lifetime. Tickets for Showcation are on sale now! Visit the Showcation website to secure your passes for a weekend of endless possibilities and limitless fun.
