“This is an idea I had when I was drunk at the faire last year and now it’s happening,” tweeted Alison Wonderland.
Alison Wonderland is celebrating the ten-year anniversary of her debut album at… the Ren Faire? Indeed, Run came out just over a decade ago, and the Australian DJ and producer is commemorating its release with a unique performance at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale, California on Saturday, April 19 at 5:45pm local time.
An instagram post from the Faire reads as follows: “Dame Alison of Wonderland, Mistress of Melody and Wielder of the Enchanted Soundcraft, joins us to perform her album Run in a style that harks back to the renaissance. Gather ye close, noble friend, and hear the music from a sorceress of song whose renown hath traversed far and wide.”
“To celebrate its 10 year anniversary I may or may not be djing on a strange contraption a renaissance version of my album “Run” at the renaissance faire this Saturday,” tweeted Alison Wonderland (real name Alexandra Sholler). “This is an idea I had when I was drunk at the faire last year and now it’s happening ahhhh.”
Specific details of Sholler’s performance at the Faire remain limited. Run was arguably the album that launched her career; it included such memorable tracks as “U Don’t Know” featuring Wayne Coyne and “Already Gone” featuring Lido and B-R-A-V-E.
Saturday, April 19 is but one of the SoCal Renaissance Pleasure Faire’s 2025 dates. The event series started on April 5 and will run every Saturday and Sunday until May 18.
