Afterlife Festival Mexico City will not take place this year, with Zamna citing unforeseen technical and licensing issues with the venue.
Afterlife has become renowned for bringing curated experiences filled with larger-than-life melodic techno beats and stunning visual displays to cities around the world. Recent shows, such as their massive gathering in Tulum and Anyma’s takeover of the Sphere in Las Vegas, have helped continue that trend in 2025. Earlier this year, the brand announced its latest adventure, Afterlife Festival, which was set to host editions in Mexico City and Barcelona, with one day featuring Anyma while the other featured MRAK. Yet just over a month from when the two-day affair in Mexico City was set to kick off, it’s been revealed it won’t move forward as planned.
Today, Zamna dropped the news that Afterlife Festival Mexico City has been officially canceled. In the statement posted on social media, the promoter stated that they encountered “unforeseen technical and licensing issues with the venue,” which forced the cancelation to take place. “We explored every possible solution, but the situation prevents us from delivering the experience you deserve,” the statement from Zamna continued.
Afterlife Festival Mexico City was scheduled to take place at Hipódromo de las Américas, a venue that has previously hosted events from the brand, on May 9-10. Those who purchased tickets for Afterlife Festival Mexico City will be fully refunded via Fullpass to the same card they used for their transaction.
All is not lost for fans of the brand, as the edition of Afterlife Festival in Barcelona is still currently scheduled to occur at Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya on June 13-14. The lineup is still yet to be revealed, but additional details and tickets for that edition can be found on the official website.
