Calvin Harris to Head Up Ushuaïa Ibiza’s First-Ever “Double Residency”

“I’m buzzing to be the first artist to hold a double residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza,” said Calvin Harris.

Rich as its history may be, the White Isle still has a handful of firsts to be explored by intrepid nightlife professionals. As of this summer, there will be one fewer on the table, as Calvin Harris has secured the debut “double residency” at Ushuaïa Ibiza.

What, pray tell, does that entail? It’s two separate residencies that each run on a different day of the week, overlapping for two months. One takes place every Friday all the way from May 30 – September 12. Then, from July 1 – August 26, he will perform every Tuesday.

A press release attributes the decision to “unprecedented demand,” citing Harris’ collaborations with pop superstars like Rihanna and The Weeknd as well as his 56 million combined streams. It notes that the Fridays will carry on what’s already working for Harris at Ushuaïa Ibiza, while Tuesdays will introduce “a fresh concept that pushes the limits of production, sound, and spectacle.”

Harris himself also commented on the announcement. “This is something that’s never been done before, and I’m buzzing to be the first artist to hold a double residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza,” he said. “None of this would be possible without the incredible fans who’ve been with me every step of the way.”

“The energy of people from all over the world, all coming together at the epicentre of electronic music, is something I can’t wait to feel again,” Harris went on. “Two residencies, two completely different nights — this is going to be a season like no other.”

The news follows Harris’ announcement of his foray into country music via a new single titled “Smoke The Pain Away,” which features his own vocals. Last year, he told MistaJam that he doesn’t see himself DJing past 50, meaning fans should seize on opportunities to catch him perform while they still can.

Single-night tickets to both of Calvin Harris’ Ushuaïa Ibiza residencies start at €120. Purchase yours and find additional information on the club’s website.
