Charli XCX, Justice Take Home Grammy Awards in Dance Music Categories

“Neverender” by Justice won Best Dance/Electronic Recording, and Charli XCX’s Brat won Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Another edition of the Grammy Awards came and went on Sunday, February 2. As always, it offered a snapshot of the world’s most buzzed-about musicians, including dance music mainstays Justice and Charli XCX, who collectively brought home awards in three categories.

Justice, a French duo comprised of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, won a Grammy in the Best Dance/Electronic Recording category for “Neverender” featuring Tame Impala, which appeared on their April 2024 album HYPERDRAMA. It beat out stiff competition, not the least of which was “leave me alone” by Fred Again.. and Baby Keem, Four Tet‘s “Loved,” and “She’s Gone, Dance On” by Disclosure.

But the biggest winner in the 2025 Grammy Awards’ dance music categories was undoubtedly Charli XCX (real name Charlotte Emma Aitchison). The UK songstress’ February 2024 single “Von Dutch” earned her an award for Best Dance/Pop Recording, and Brat — the June 2024 album on which it appeared — was named Best Dance/Electronic Album. Nominees in the former category included “yes, and?” by Ariana Grande and Madison Beer‘s “Make You Mine.” The latter included albums like Timeless by Kaytranada, Telos by Zedd, and the Justice album HYPERDRAMA.

Dance music was, of course, a small fraction of the 2025 Grammy Awards. Perhaps the biggest winner of the ceremony was Kendrick Lamar, whose incendiary May 2024 Drake diss track “Not Like Us” won Grammys in all five categories for which it was nominated. Beyoncé also made headlines as the first Black woman to win Best Country Album, and rising star Doechi won Best Rap Album for her August 2024 mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal.

A full list of the 2025 Grammy Awards nominees and winners is available on the awards ceremony’s official website.
