A nearby business captured footage of Amanda Torres’ stabbing outside a Downtown Los Angeles after party and turned it over to the police.
Justice is one step closer to being served for the murder of Amanda Torres as footage of the man who allegedly stabbed her to death early Sunday morning has been turned over to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred outside a Downtown Los Angeles after party hosted by Space Yacht, CYBER RODEO, and UNDERWAR3, and from which the assailant was ejected. Torres’ brother was said to have ended up in an altercation with two or three men, and she was stabbed when she attempted to intervene. Paramedics arrived shortly before 1am to find her not breathing with a stab wound in her neck, and they were unable to resuscitate her.
New footage of the stabbing could now help authorities identify Torres’ murderer. In an Instagram Story, home and business surveillance company Discounted Security Cameras shared a “quick snippet” of the moments leading up to the stabbing captured by its client, a nearby business. In it, the suspect can be seen approaching a small group of individuals.
Amanda Torres, known by her friends in nightlife as Dandy Mandi, was a UCLA graduate and activist, according to ABC7. She had dedicated herself to various social causes, the most recent of which being LA fire relief efforts.
“She donated her time to go and feed the fire department and other people who needed it,” said her father, Rogelio Torres. “She was always for [helping] people… and the community of Los Angeles.”
