As the popularity of UK music rises in the US, more grime artists than ever are making a name for themselves in the bass music realm.
Grime music — a raw and edgy style of UK rap — was born in the early 2000s after styles like UK garage and jungle began to take over underground clubs. Usually incorporating these electronic influences, early pioneers of this vocal style at the time included Wiley, Skepta, Dizzee Rascal, Stormzy, and Ghetts.
With 140 dubstep, drum and bass, and UKG becoming more popular than ever among US listeners in recent years, most would agree that a lethal verse from a talented lyricist always makes a track even better. Flowdan proved that grime could go beyond the underground (and overseas) when his track with Skrillex and Fred Again, “Rumble,” was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Countless emerging vocalists are paving their own path within the genre in 2025. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorites to have on your radar (and your favorite streaming platform) this year.
5 UK Grime Vocalists Who Are Shaking Up The Bass Scene

Snowy

Snowy‘s signature “oi oi oi” is proof that a catchy tag with clever lyrics to go alongside it is a hallmark listeners will remember. Having worked alongside the likes of Drone, Visages, Notion, Sukh Knight, Abstrakt Sonance, ENiGMA Dubz, and Barclay Crenshaw, the Nottingham-based artist always has something new on the way.
With a sense of chaos and grit in his voice that is perfect for 140 dubstep, Snowy has quickly become a favorite track feature in the bass scene. Every time his aforementioned signature scream pops up in a DJ set, it truly drives the crowd wild. Most US fans can only imagine what it would be like to hear him MC live.

Logan_olm

Logan_olm is among the underground names that have been popping up on tons of incredible tracks, and it’s easy to hear why producers love his sound. With a naturally deep voice and Reggae-leaning lyrics, Logan is one of those artists who can make a brand-new tune reminiscent of a classic.
Lately, he’s worked alongside the likes of Deekline, Champion, Onhell, Bianca Oblivion, and Ternion Sound across several styles, and he’s released on imprints like Critical Music, Jungle Cakes, and Imprint UK. Logan’s mellow yet catchy voice adds the perfect touch to every tune on which he features.

Strategy

Undoubtedly, every grime fan in the world has heard of Strategy if they aren’t living under a rock. Having worked alongside Voltage, Ternion Sound, Pola & Bryson, Visages, Halogenix, and plenty of others, Strategy brings a raw energy and formidable presence to every track that is nearly unmatched in his realm. With no corny voice edits or unnecessary bits, he delivers confident, unforgettable rhymes that unintentionally steal the spotlight on plenty of tracks.
In “Greengate Adhesive” with Cartridge, Strategy declares, “Still doing it, killing it, if a Soundboy wants it, couple dubplates when I kill them dead,” amid a slew of other clever verses. Strategy spits fast, but when listened to closely, he has some of the heaviest-hitting lines in the game. His lyrics include plenty of UK phrases and slang that leave American listeners to decipher just what he could be saying.

Rakjay

Rakjay has quickly proven to bass and grime fans that he’s here to stay. After a huge couple years of releases, he’s undoubtedly set up for success in 2025 as a growing artist. Not only has Rakjay become a fan favorite when paired with Canadian dubstep producer Torcha, but he’s also worked alongside MYTHM, ATYYA, Grimesy, Hypho, Abstrakt Sonance, and Mystic State.
While Rakjay typically takes over the mic, he has also dabbled in production. He produced the Bandcamp-released single “Shellingon Season,” a sick collaboration which features his aforementioned peer, Logam_olm, on lyric duties.

Emz

A “London-raised, Bristol-made” rapper, as he says it, Emz has been popping up on popular producers’ tracks left and right. He had a hefty collection of self-released tunes and collabs behind him, but it seems more bass producers than ever are catching onto his style.
From fast beats like Sam Binga’s “Don’t Stress” to lethal dubstep weapons like “Heaven Sent” with Ternion Sound and “My Way” with Drone, Emz always delivers the perfect bars to complete the track. Much like the others, he’s honed an authentic, no-frills sound, and his rhymes are more captivating with every new release.
