The Blessed Madonna Cancels Tour Dates “for Ongoing, Serious Medical Reasons”

The Blessed Madonna has opened up about health issues that recently required her to undergo surgery.

Fans of The Blessed Madonna in South America and beyond have been met with unfortunate news today. The US DJ and producer has shared that, due to a chronic health dilemma, she must cancel her upcoming tour dates.

The Blessed Madonna (real name Marea Stamper) took to Instagram to break the news. “I have been ill and I was pulled by my doctors from the South American tour for ongoing, serious medical reasons,” her statement started.

“Many of you know it’s been a tough year. I fought through surgery and treatments to even get to South America in the first place and I felt capable and so very excited,” Stamper continued. “So it’s humbling to say the least when your body doesn’t do what you demand of it.”

Stamper didn’t directly state what ailment led her to cancel her tour dates. Last month, however, she told the BBC that she had suffered from persistent anemia “for some time,” and that she underwent surgery so that doctors could determine the root cause. “They really fixed me up,” she said. “Otherwise, I would have died on this next tour.”

Persistent anemia is also known as anemia of chronic disease as it often accompanies illnesses such as cancer, kidney disease, or ulcerative colitis. It is defined by low levels of red blood cells or hemoglobin and can cause tiredness, dizziness, headaches, or pale skin, among other symptoms.

Stamper concluded her statement on an apologetic note. “I know you all save your money for tickets,” she wrote. “Times are hard. You travel. It’s a big deal. I don’t take you for granted. I love you all so much. My heart is broken. So we must mend it together soon.”
