Morgan Wallen’s Sand In My Boots Festival will take place instead of Hangout Fest this year on the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama, from May 16-18.
Hangout Fest has long been a destination for many who want to catch pop, rock, country, hip-hop, and electronic artists from the South in a unique location on the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Previous editions have boasted top-tier lineups with major artists from that range of genres, but as the festival gears up for its 15th anniversary, changes have been made. Today, AEG Presents and Hangout Fest announced that they’ve teamed up with Morgan Wallen to bring a new experience to life: Sand In My Boots Festival.
The debut of Sand In My Boots Festival is set to take place on May 16-18 and will offer a curated lineup featuring Morgan Wallen‘s friends, favorite artists, ones who have inspired him, and others he’s always wanted to perform with. “Creating a Festival with Morgan has been a dream come true… and some of the most fun I have ever had booking a show!” said Stacy Vee, EVP of Goldenvoice and Producer of Stagecoach. “I can’t wait for fans to come and experience one of the most eclectic and electric lineups and on-site experiences the world has ever seen.”
While the country artist might be the show’s star, and the genre is sure to be more present at this festival, it’s been claimed that it will retain a multi-genre nature, akin to what Hangout Fest brought to the region. Stagecoach, AEG Presents’ country festival that takes place in April after both weekends of Coachella, has seen a significant increase in the presence of artists from other genres, including electronic, over the past few years. One can envision this will be similar to what Sand In My Boots offers when the lineup is revealed soon.
“The opportunity to bring Morgan’s world to life on the beach in Gulf Shores is something very special,” said AEG Presents and Hangout Festival Producer Reeves Price. “The fact that it coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Hangout Festival only makes it more special. We can’t wait to see everyone back on the beach in May.”
Much like Hangout Fest, Sand In My Boots will draw crowds from all over the South and beyond and is set to offer a variety of accommodation options for those who plan to travel to the festival.
