The Beatport Group’s Diversity + Parity Fund aims to amplify the voices of underrepresented groups and foster a more inclusive dance music scene.
Beatport might be most renowned as an online platform for DJs to purchase music, but their efforts to uplift the electronic music community go far beyond that. From spotlighting rising acts via the Beatport Next program and teaming up with brands like HE.SHE.THEY. to releasing new tools for DJs and producers and more, the Beatport Group has continued to push the scene forward. Today, they’ve dropped the details for the third annual Diversity + Parity Fund to further support the expansive electronic music community.
Beatport Group’s Diversity + Parity Fund will once again provide financial support and visibility for organizations working to address diversity and inclusion issues in the dance music scene. $150,000 in funding is available in total, with grants ranging from $3,000 to $15,000 to accommodate organizations of different sizes. Selected organizations will also receive editorial and marketing exposure from Beatport in addition to the grants. Additionally, $10,000 has been allocated for a special IMS Ibiza Fund, which will help young artists attend the music summit in 2025.
The efforts from Beatport Group have made quite an impact over the past two years. Last year, financial support increased to $150,000 and was another success, with Saffron, We Are Moving The Needle, One Off Traks, Change The Beat, Other Village People, and Last Night A DJ Saved My Life receiving funds to help those projects grow.
Organizations interested in applying for grants can do so from Thursday, October 3 at 5pm BST to Thursday, October 31 at 11:59pm GMT. Head to the official website for details and submission guidelines. Artists looking to participate in the IMS Ibiza Fund can join the waiting list for more information.
