Black Lotus is Teksupport and el studio’s event concept centered around “immersive theatrical performances.”
Techno and house music lovers in and around Manhattan have something to look forward to late next month. The fourth installment of Teksupport and el studio‘s Black Lotus event brand will bless a TBA venue on Thursday, October 24 and then again on Thursday, October 31 — the latter, of course, being Halloween Night.
According to a press release, Black Lotus is defined by “immersive theatrical performances,” promising “an elevated haven of self-expression.” It notes that “avant-garde theatrical performances and the enigmatic bloom of the Black Lotus will envelop attendees in a hauntingly beautiful dream-mare where euphoric synergy reigns and reality blurs. Immersive theatrical performances for this edition will be presented in collaboration with Fleur Du Mal, a sophisticated luxury lingerie and ready-to-wear fashion brand.”
Of course, world-class electronic musicians also add to the appeal of each of the upcoming events. The first bills Damian Lazarus, Mita Gami, Tiffy Vera, and a “special surprise act.” The second will see artists like Kaz James, Nick Morgan, and Michael Malih perform.
Black Lotus marks the first time Teksupport and el studio have collaborated. The former was founded by Rob Toma and has emerged as a leading promoter in the NYC house and techno scene, responsible for events headlined by artists like Eric Prydz, Solomun, and Richie Hawtin. The latter is the brainchild of Juriël Zeligman, who also opened the multifaceted SoHo venue GOSPËL.
Tickets to both Black Lotus Halloween events are on sale now. Head over to Dice to purchase yours for both Night 1 and Night 2.
