Michael Bibi organized One Life at London’s Finsbury Park in July to celebrate being cancer free since the end of 2023.
Michael Bibi‘s brush with death has clearly given him a newfound sense of purpose. The globetrotting DJ and producer partnered with stem cell charity Anthony Nolan on his One Life London show that took place at Finsbury Park in July. Now, he’s donated nearly £125,000 in revenue from the event to Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
“Today I visited the Royal Marsden for my regular check-ups and to present the staff with the money we raised from the One Life show at Finsbury Park,” said Bibi in a statement. “To everyone who was part of this show, thank you for making this possible.”
He continued: “Through dancing, we’ve directly helped others like myself and contributed to saving more lives. My heart is full, thank you.”
Michael Bibi, whose career in electronic music extends all the way back to when he bought his first pair of belt-driven turntables at 14, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called CNS lymphoma in 2023. After six months of treatment, he announced that it was in remission. His subsequent 2024 run of gigs was a whirlwind the likes of which most DJs can only dream of.
Not only did Bibi perform at Coachella’s new Quasar stage, but One Life London marked the biggest dance music event in the city’s history. His year’s not over, either — not by a long shot. Friday, September 20 will see the soaring talent host a One Life event at the White Isle’s world-famous superclub, Ushuaïa Ibiza.
Michael Bibi’s £124,832 donation to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity will go toward cancer care, including cutting-edge research and treatments for individuals who suffer from the ailment.
