Dance music features heavily on the fall 2024 program for La Paloma in Barcelona.
Closed for the better part of two decades, centenarian Barcelona nightclub La Paloma is back in full swing at long last. Following a phased reopening that took place over the past 18 months, the club has shared a fall event calendar full of notable names in dance music.
La Paloma’s fall programming kicks off this weekend with a gathering headlined by Australia-born, Germany-based DJ and producer Fantastic Man on Saturday, September 14. The club will host two parties nearly every weekend afterward through Saturday, November 23. Among the headliners for these gatherings are North Carolina talent Machinedrum, Dutch house music aficionado Antal, early electro pioneer Egyptian Lover, and rave era relic Nightmares on Wax.
“WE ARE BACK,” reads the emphatic caption of La Paloma’s Instagram post promoting the run of dates. The club billed artists every month of 2024 except for August. In winter, the club will shift to a “tardeo” schedule with events running from 7:30pm to 2:00am.
La Paloma originally opened in 1903 in an industrial space previously occupied by a foundry. Throughout its lifetime, the club’s ownership has maintained its baroque-style interior, whose grand, red and gold-accented ballroom sets the space apart from venues of the moment.
In 2007, La Paloma was forced to cancel due to municipal regulations. It finally enjoyed a soft opening in 2023, and its proprietors have gradually ramped up entertainment in the months leading up to its grand reopening.
As with any nightclub, La Paloma’s programming is subject to change for any number of reasons. Along with all other information about the venue, its most current calendar is available on its official website.
