No headliners have been announced for Brownies & Lemonade’s upcoming DNBNL party in Denver — but we’ve got a sneaking suspicion about one of them.
Between successful gatherings in Los Angeles and San Francisco, it’s safe to say Brownies & Lemonade and Deadbeats‘ DNBNL event brand has been sufficiently battle tested. Now, the nationwide promoter is taking this show on the road, and the next stop is the Mile High City of Denver on September 18.
DNBNL Denver will follow in a long line of Brownies & Lemonade parties in that it will take place at Dave & Busters — in this case, the one on 2000 S Colorado Blvd in Denver’s Glendale munipipality. The current flier lists no headliners, opting instead for strings of question marks apparently equal in number to all the letters in each performer’s name. We therefore speculate that one of them is Culture Shock. Can you identify any of the rest?
Brownies & Lemonade started out promoting house parties in 2012, and the collective has worked to keep that spontaneity alive by hosting events in novel locations like laundromats and arcades. They organized the first DNBNL at the Dave & Busters in Hollywood in February of last year, capitalizing on the momentum of the post-pandemic North American drum and bass resurgence.
And what better partner could they have picked than Zeds Dead‘s Deadbeats imprint? The outfit is a more recent adopter of drum and bass, to be sure — but it’s come to work with some of the genre’s recent power players. Case in point: the label now includes talent like Bensley, Reaper, and Friction on its ever-growing roster.
Presale tickets for DNBNL Denver go live on Thursday, September 12 at 10:30am PST. Sign up to get notified when there are updates on the event’s Laylo page.
