The DJ Awards Announces Its 2024 Genre-Defining Nominees

Vote now in the 2024 DJ Awards to honor legendary artists, innovators, and rising stars shaping the future of dance music.


The DJ Awards is making a much-anticipated return on October 2 at Club Chinois in Ibiza. As the big day approaches, attention turns to the diverse talent nominated across multiple categories. After a four-year hiatus, this year’s awards not only mark the 23rd anniversary of the ceremony but also introduce a new chapter under fresh ownership, with a renewed focus on unity within the dance music community. This year’s categories encompass long-established genres and emerging trends, ensuring that every corner of the scene is recognized.

The International DJ of the Year category brings together some of the biggest names who dominate global dance floors. Nominees include industry giants like Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, FISHER, and Peggy Gou. This category highlights DJs who have achieved international acclaim, captivating audiences worldwide.

In the House category, legendary figures such as Kerri Chandler and Honey Dijon are joined by rising stars like TSHA and Syreeta, showcasing the genre’s enduring appeal and evolution. Seth Troxler and Sam Divine also stand out as key players in this category, bringing their unique styles to the forefront. Tech House has its own category as well, with artists including Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Solomun, Michael Bibi, and Mochakk gaining nominations this year.

In the newer Organic House category, artists like Bedouin, BLOND:ISH, and Monolink showcase the genre’s earthy sounds that have captivated a global audience. Meanwhile, the Afro category features groundbreaking artists like Black Coffee, Major League DJz, and Francis Mercier.

The Trance category, which has consistently captivated fans with its euphoric sounds, features heavyweights like Armin van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, and Tiësto, alongside innovative psytrance acts such as Infected Mushroom and Vini Vici. Progressive House sees a blend of melodic and atmospheric sounds, with ARTBAT, Tale of Us, and Eric Prydz consistently pushing the genre forward as well as other nominees, such as CamelPhat and Franky Wah.

Techno continues to push boundaries, and this year’s nominees reflect the genre’s raw, pulsating energy. Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Sven Väth, Paco Osuna, Indira Paganotto, and Sara Landry have all been nominated for this year’s DJ Awards.

In the Drum & Bass category, the genre’s relentless energy is on full display with nominees like Chase & Status, Wilkinson, and Nia Archives. These artists continue to drive the genre forward, bringing drum and bass to new heights.

Live performances have always been a highlight of the dance music, and the Live Act category celebrates the best of the best. Nominees include the critically acclaimed Fred again.. and Bicep, as well as standout acts like RÜFÜS DU SOL and Róisín Murphy. Finally, the RIOT Noise Breakthrough Artist category spotlights emerging talents who have made a significant impact in the last few years. Nominees include Archie Hamilton, Miss Monique, and James Hype, who have quickly become artists to watch in the scene.
