Disclosure’s surprise set at Boiler Room London was cut early as crowd surges caused safety concerns.

This past weekend, Boiler Room brought their biggest event yet to London. While the five-stage festival at Lee Valley Showground seemed to go off without a hitch for the most part, the experience was soured for some as the surprise set from legendary duo Disclosure was cut short due to crowd surges.

Boiler Room stepped in after Disclosure had started their set to shut it down. The duo took to Instagram to share their statement on the cancelation, saying, “Unfortunately it’s out of our control but the festival has deemed it unsafe for us to play due to crowd surges,” before confirming that they wouldn’t be returning to the stage.

We worked really hard on the set for months, flew from Los Angeles just to do it and are honestly heartbroken we can’t play. We won’t be coming back on, but hope to see you soon again London.

Boiler Room also offered clarity, stating, “Our secret guests, Disclosure, pulled a massive crowd in London today. We unfortunately had to halt their set due to such high demand—not their fault.” The brand apologized to those who came out and teased that they are planning to bring the duo back to London “very soon.”

Boiler Room London featured performances from a wild range of artists including Sara Landry, I Hate Models, 999999999, Yung Singh, Skream & Benga, Flowdan, DJ Daddy Trance, and more. It was the latest stop on the ongoing Boiler Room World Tour.

This cancelation comes a month after a Boiler Room show featuring Peggy Gou in Seoul was evacuated due to overcrowding, with multiple attendees experiencing breathing difficulties. Per the report from Resident Advisor, the brand refuted claims that it was oversold and stated that it was due to a “crowd-flow issue” instead.
