AI has made it possible for any producer to collaborate with Kaskade, so he’s holding a contest for the best one alongside SoundCloud and Soundful.
Have you ever wished you could collaborate on a track with Kaskade? Now’s your chance — sort of.
The Chicago-born, Los Angeles-based artist has enabled other producers to tap into his “Sonic DNA,” according to a press release, thanks to AI-generative technology developed by Soundful. Not only that, but they can compete to win prizes via a contest called Human + AI + You in partnership with music streaming platform SoundCloud.
The grand prize winner will get their track finished and released by Kaskade (real name Ryan Raddon). They will also get to perform alongside him at at a show, receive a two-year Soundful Pro subscription, get a one-year SoundCloud Next Pro subscription, and win $1,000 that they can use for any expenses involved in the meet-and-greet. The second-place winner, meanwhile, will get a release on Raddon’s Arkade imprint, a one-year Soundful Pro subscription, and $500 in cash.
“I think right now we’re at an interesting time because of all this AI technology in our space,” said Raddon in a YouTube video promoting the contest. “And for me, I’m leaning into that. I love the advancement of the scene and the technology. I kind of see where it’s going, and I like being involved with what’s next. And I got involved with Soundful because I was like, this is what’s happening next.”
Soundful is a platform that generates studio-quality music in a wide variety of genres. Its algorithms are never trained on copywritten material, instead basing their output on music theory and ethically sourced human content.
