Tomorrowland’s newest mainstage design, LIFE, has officially been revealed. Its lush, nature-inspired theme merges organic beauty with modern elements.
While the earliest years of Tomorrowland featured fairly standard stage designs, the past decade has seen the beloved festival bring forth unique offerings that have made it stand out compared to many others in the scene. Last year brought the Adscendo stage for dance music lovers to bask in, and those flocking to the festival grounds in De Schorre, Boom, Belgium, for the 20th anniversary are being treated to one of their most uniquely designed stages yet, LIFE.
Tomorrowland’s LIFE mainstage was crafted entirely in-house, and it took two years to complete it, from initial sketches and 3D modeling to the actual production. This year’s stage stands 36 meters tall and 160 meters wide, but its size is only one aspect that makes it show-stopping as it boasts 230 speakers and subs, 1,100 custom LED lights, and 1,054 lamps. Additionally, its nature theme is bolstered by four waterfalls, a whopping 43 fountains, and plenty of intricate patterns and textures that will leave you feeling as if you’ve been firmly placed in the lush paradise of Silvyra.
Silvyra is the mythical realm that attendees can explore this year, with LIFE acting as a prequel to the 2016 edition’s Elixir Of Life theme. This new adventure intends to shine a light on the origin of Mother Tree and her protector, the Maze, all of which builds into the greater, mind-bending story that Tomorrowland has unfolded with each passing year.
The first weekend of Tomorrowland has officially kicked off with the LIFE mainstage as its central focus. Tune into the livestream to see the stage in action or catch what’s happening elsewhere via the Freedom Stage and One World Radio streams.
