Skrillex to Take Over Perry’s Stage at Lollapalooza 2024

On Saturday during Lollapalooza 2024, Skrillex will host a takeover of festival founder Perry Farrell’s namesake stage.

While Skrillex appeared on the Lollapalooza 2024 lineup, fans looking for his name in the set times released back in May were met with question marks — literally, as in they were covering the entire Saturday lineup for Perry’s Stage. It has now come to light that the world-famous DJ and producer will host his very own takeover of the stage.

Lollapalooza — which will take place from Thursday, August 1 – Sunday, August 4 in Chicago‘s Grant Park — announced as much on social media. “SKRILLEX & FRIENDS,” the festival’s organizers tweeted, “Where Perry’s becomes Sonny’s Stage all Saturday of Lolla!“

Outside of his own closing performance, Skrillex (real name Sonny Moore) has enlisted recent collaborator Four Tet, breakout jungle phenomenon Nia Archives, and hip-hop producer Kenny Beats (formerly of EDM duo LOUDPVCK) for his takeover. Opening the stage shortly after 1pm is a back-to-back set between Ahahadream and Manara followed by individual performances from 2hollis and Dylan Brady.

Perry’s Stage takes its name from Lollapalooza founder and Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell. In recent years, it has exclusively billed electronic music talent.

On other days of the festival, Perry’s Stage will host performances by the likes of tech house superstar FISHER, bass house up-and-comer Nostalgix, German hitmaker Zedd, and Canadian dubstep duo Zeds Dead. Outside of dance music, the Lollapalooza 2024 lineup also features hip-hop acts like Killer Mike, Metro Boomin, and Future; bands like Deftones, The Killers, and Blink 182, and pop stars like Kesha and Victoria Monét.

As Lollapalooza ends relatively early each evening, a number of after parties are also available for revelers looking to enjoy music into the wee hours. Specifically for electronic music lovers, Walker & Royce will perform at Sound-Bar on Thursday, Jungle at The Salt Shed on Friday, and Zeds Dead at Radius Chicago, among countless other options.

Tickets to Lollapalooza 2024 are still on sale. Purchase yours and find additional information on the event website.
