The brush fire was caused by ODESZA’s pyrotechnics, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Fans who gathered to see ODESZA for their tour finale at The Gorge Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 6 were met with an anticlimactic conclusion. The show, which marked the last stop on their The Last Goodbye Finale Tour, ended early during the duo’s last song due to a brush fire.
Video circulating on social media shows the blaze spreading stage right from the audience on a hillside while venue staff work to extinguish it with water hoses. According to Fox13 News, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office attributed the fire to ODESZA’s pyrotechnics displays.
“During the last song of ODESZA’s set at the Gorge, a brush fire broke out not far from the stage,” reads a statement from the venue. “The fire was contained and fortunately was quickly extinguished. Out of an abundance of caution and safety, the show ended without an encore. We truly appreciate everyone coming tonight and celebrating the end of the tour.”
ODESZA, comprised of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, kicked off The Last Goodbye Finale Tour with a June 7 and 8 event at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The tour also brought them to Madison Square Garden in New York City and Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado. Artists like Bob Moses, Big Boi, Ben Böhmer and Tinlicker accompanied them for select dates.
The Last Goodbye Finale tour was an extension of dates making up a tour around ODESZA’s 2022 album, The Last Goodbye. The 13-song effort received a nomination in the category of “Best Dance/Electronic Album” at the 65th annual GRAMMY Awards.
Spokespeople on behalf of ODESZA have not addressed the fire by issuing a public statement of their own at the time of writing.
