Vintage Culture is the latest artist to host a residency on BBC Radio 1 with a summer takeover that will take place every Thursday in July.
BBC Radio 1 has announced an exciting addition to its residency lineup: Brazilian powerhouse DJ and producer Vintage Culture will join the UK’s prestigious station for a four-week residency this month. Beginning on July 4, the international act will join the star-studded roster of dance music artists for a weekly showcase of the versatile, soulful sounds that have captivated audiences globally and propelled him into a highly respected artist.
Vintage Culture will showcase his signature mixes of big-room energy, deep-house melody, and tropical sounds from his home country every Thursday in July, exclusively on Radio 1 and Radio 1 Dancer. Just in time for summer, the artist’s impressive track record of feel-good music that merges culture and music makes this an especially exciting and well-timed addition to the BBC Radio 1 lineup.
The British national radio station’s online stream, Radio 1 Dance, has been a major factor in highlighting the pioneers of today’s dance music with mixes of back-to-back dancefloor hits since its first air date in 2020. BBC Residency lineups have brought listeners old-school legends, the stars filling arenas, and the talent bubbling in the underground scene alike to spotlight the freshest sounds in the international club scene.
Vintage Culture’s spot on BBC Radio 1’s lineup further cements him as a highly influential pillar in dance music. The announcement follows a stream of recent milestones for the Brazilian artist as he continues a world tour for his 16-track debut album, Promised Land. Additionally, his marathon-long residencies and sets in iconic venues such as Hï Ibiza, where he’s set to play every Wednesday, and headlining performances on the world’s biggest stages, including Tomorrowland, have further bolstered his legacy.
Listeners outside the UK can listen to Vintage Culture’s July takeovers live every Thursday from 11 pm-1 am GMT+1, online or via BBCSounds Mobile App.
