Mayan Warrior Galaxyer will make its playa debut at Burning Man 2024, followed by the collective’s annual Los Angeles Halloween show.
Cue the clichés about Mayan Warrior “rising like a phoenix from the ashes.”
In April of last year, the highly sought-after Burning Man art car was damaged beyond repair in a fire. Its has now announced the Burning Man 2024 debut of the mobile sound system’s second incarnation, Mayan Warrior Galaxyer, along with its annual Mayan Warrior Halloween party in Los Angeles on October 26.
Galaxyer builds upon what made the original Mayan Warrior such a hit on the Black Rock Desert playa and beyond. According to a press release, the vehicle itself features a wireless-controlled custom electrical drivetrain, custom LED screens, and, of course, a 153,600-watt d&b Audiotechnik KLS cardioid speaker setup. Cobbled on for good measure are a 400-watt laser, 17 headlights, and eight 30-watt lasers.
The new art car will make its debut at Burning Man, whose 2024 event runs from Sunday, August 25-Monday, September 2. The Mayan Warrior Foundation, a nonprofit organization, has announced fundraisers to help cover the costs associated with getting it to the playa. One takes place in Austin on July 12, and the other touches down in Istanbul on July 20.
Then, after the Burn, Mayan Warrior will host its annual Mayan Warrior Halloween party in Los Angeles on October 26. Local outfit Stranger Than has once again partnered with them on the event, but no lineup details are public at the time of writing. According to the press release, Mayan Warrior events in Miami and Tulum will also be announced later this year.
Tickets to Mayan Warrior Halloween will go on sale July 10 at 12pm PT.
